Organizing medical records, filing records in pt. charts, making in-office appointments or procedure appts. on computer system, phoning different facilities to schedule appts. with their business if need be. Measure vital signs, work directly with doctors, answer calls from pts. regarding medicines, health issues, etc. Filling non narcotic medications, Pre-certs for medications with insurance companies. Separated and mailed medical dictation to the primary or referring physicians. I feel like I had a major impact in this job by helping out the doctor tremendously. I filled non narcotic prescriptions for her and made sure she had everything she needed before stepping into the room to speak with the patient. I handled the patients and made them feel at ease in triage before they were ready for the doctor.
I demonstrated expert multi-tasking, experience in microsoft word, microsoft excel, inservio, and medassist. I also have skills with electonic prescription and electronic medical records. I have experience with medical insurances as well handling billing in the office from insurances (medicare, medicaid, humana, etc) to patients before I took over as the M.A.
Helped manage wound care, taking pts. vital signs, this includes temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure. Charted information into charts ranging from intake/output, vital signs, etc. Helped maintain patients personal hygiene, including shaving, monitor showers, brushing teeth. Fed patients with difficulties at designated eating times and documented intake/output. I've worked with mentally and physically disabled people helping them accomplish daily living activities if possible. Range of motion exercises, physical therapy for rehabilitation charting each case on a day to day basis on their skill improvements. I have been in contact with family members and have been accountable for providing emotional support to patients and their families. This can be as simple as helping patients feel comfortable with their surroundings and a list of other training throughout the 5 years I worked there.
I became friends with many patients in my time at the nursing center. It was hard not to grow a strong bond between some people because I dealt with them on a day to day basis. I was awarded employee of the month and was nominated for employee of the year.
I demonstrated strength, cpr, multi-tasking, compassion, ability to train and show others how to handle the job, and patience.
